As a rule, the mentors are not familiar with the basics of second chance didactics – and in the end they do not have to be, since it is first and foremost a question of linguistic accompaniment. Nevertheless, volunteers can of course be sure if they are aware of some basic connections in language acquisition (cf. further training under point 7). The class teacher should also advise on questions and uncertainties and provide appropriate didactic material that the volunteer can use.
If this is possible locally, cooperation with the university can also offer additional didactic impulses.
